Are you a SQA pro whose unrelenting drive for quality code and passion for breaking software has you contemplating your next challenge? We are adding Software Development Engineers in Test ( SDET ) to become key members in our core test team. This team will be responsible for end to end testing of hybrid peer to peer on demand HD video streaming including: development of testing infrastructure from the ground up; testing client and server performance, scalability, availability, security, and user experience; development of test tools; working with developers and program managers to understand and define product requirements and functionality.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new test methodology in a distributed, peer to peer product environment from the ground up.
  • Own the investigation, reporting, and tracking defects for client side, middle tier, and backend components. Partner with Development and Program Management to ensure that product and service issues are known and appropriately resolved. Plan testing and validate product quality over an aggressive product cycle.
  • Design, implement, and support automated test harness(es). Design, create, execute, and maintain test scripts, automation, and test tools required by development and QA.
  • Develop test plans; document and execute white box and black box test cases for system components.
  • Track and report test progress and bug reporting and verification for the project. Create appropriate reports relevant to testing efforts.
  • Assemble and configure test related hardware. This may include re-configuring existing computers and configuring appliances such as network switches.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years proven track record in testing high volume, distributed applications, messaging, and services design patterns. Test experience with system level software products.
  • 3+ years coding experience with one of Java/C#/C/C++ programming languages. Experience with Perl, Python, PHP highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the desire and ability to collaborate as a member of a strong technical team, as well as a self-directed individual achiever.
  • Core competencies in Java/J2EE, Web Services, Messaging, Networking, Database, and web development. Working knowledge of JavaScript, page markup languages and web server technologies.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, including development in a Linux environment and use of agile development methodologies.
  • Experience in Test Engineering, performance and stress testing software.
  • Practical experience with Windows and Linux operating systems required; OS-X strong plus.
  • Experience with MySQL or other SQL DBMS.
  • Experience with Internet streaming technologies, including Windows Media Video and Adobe Flash Video.
  • Understanding of network back-end service components and IP, and familiarity with setting up networking equipment.
  • Experience with Test case and bug tracking tools.
  • BA or BS in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Candidates must be a legal U.S. citizen or possess a Green Card.
