This position is the perfect opportunity for someone who is passionate about leveraging new technologies to generate revenue. The ideal candidate brings to the table experience helping customers understand the business aspects of putting their content online. The position involves developing a pipeline of customers through personal networks and lead generation, presenting technical solutions, selling and closing business, participating in promotional events such as tradeshows and seminars, and developing sales and marketing collateral. A track record of succeeding in early stage companies where the ability to be innovative and conquer new territory in a very young industry is essential.

The Region Sales Director is a seasoned professional who is comfortable with hands on activity based selling as well as high level solutions selling. This position works very closely with GridNetworks’ Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Business Development teams. Because GridNetworks is an early stage, rapidly growing company, the Region Sales Director- West must possess strong entrepreneurial skills and the willingness to go beyond the scope of a job.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Presents and sells GridNetworks’ products to prospective clients, typically selling to digital and new media management, content owners/aggregators, and engineering and internet services teams.
  • Generates sales leads through personal networks and a variety of lead generation methods. Develops and maintains call lists.
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Participates in the planning and execution of promotional events such as trade shows and seminars.
  • Crafts responses to RFP/RFIs, proposals and contracts.
  • Develops sales and marketing collateral, as needed.
  • Works with other GridNetworks team members to anticipate and respond to a variety of business needs as well as to set strategic direction.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Successful track record during 5 - 7+ years of solution selling on-line technology managed services to business executive levels in the entertainment industry and in large scale enterprise media companies.
  • Must have a strong background in video streaming or content delivery networks, on-line advertising, and digital media content management systems.
  • Familiarity with a diverse range of online content monetization techniques and best practices and familiarity with web architecture.
  • Ability to communicate complicated technical solutions effectively, provide exceptional client service through productive relationships with internal and customer engineering teams.
  • Proven track record prospecting to develop new accounts and developing and executing marketing plans to penetrate strategic, key accounts as well as grow existing accounts. Strong record of generating revenue by closing business calling on both business and technical executives.
  • Successful work experience in early stage companies selling new, innovative products/services. Strong entrepreneurial abilities with past success in activity based selling.
  • BA/BS required.
  • Must have a proven contact base and live in the Los Angeles area with ability to travel as necessary.
